James Harris: the versatile signs the extension of Glamorgan until 2026

Experienced Welsh all-rounder James Harris has signed a two-year contract with Glamorgan until 2026.

Harris, 34, joined County in 2022 after a nine-year spell with Middlesex.

Born in Morriston, he made his first-class debut in 2007 when he became the youngest bowler to take a Championship wicket for Glamorgan, aged just 16 years and 351 days.

In 2024, he took his 600th first-class wicket and scored 5,000 career runs.

“I am very pleased to extend my contract at Glamorgan, as a Welshman by birth there is nothing that makes me more proud than wearing the Daffodil on my chest,” Harris said.

He is the eighth player since the end of the 2024 campaign to sign a contract for the county, coached by Grant Bradburn and who will be managed again by Sam Northeast and Kiran Carlson in 2025.

“I’m excited about where the journey is going and I fully believe in the work that Grant, Sam and Kiran are leading; I look forward to playing my part over the next two seasons,” Harris added.
