Pip Edwards reveals how she supported best friend Jackie ‘O’ Henderson through addiction treatment: ‘We are spiritually aligned’

Pip Edwards has opened up about how she stood by friend Jackie ‘O’ Henderson amid revelations she battled drug addiction.

The radio host, 49, opened up for the first time about her years-long battle with drug and alcohol addiction in her memoir, The Whole Truth, last month.

The sportswear entrepreneur, 44, tells Stellar Magazine May Jackie’s honesty inspire him.

“I think for her it was extremely healing and it was time for her to stay true to her truth.” There is nothing to be ashamed of. And to all the critics, fuck you. Sorry, said Pip.

“The night Jackie broadcast the story on the radio, I went to her house to be with her and give her a big hug.”

The PE Nation founder says the women are “spiritually aligned” and share an incredibly close friendship.

“Jackie O is one of the most humble, caring and dedicated women I have ever met. Who she is and how she speaks, she is the one from the streets,” she said.

“We are spiritually aligned, emotionally connected. It’s honest. I think that really comes through in the way we interact, even if it’s on Instagram. I will have it back forever.

Jackie revealed how she plans to celebrate two years of sobriety as she marks the milestone just weeks after publicly detailing her addiction.

She told how she spent 28 days at the famous rehab clinic, The Betty Ford Centre, in November 2022 after battling addiction during the Covid lockdown.

In a candid excerpt, Jackie revealed that at the height of her addiction, she was taking approximately 10 to 12 Stilnox/Ambien sleeping pills and 24 Panadeine Forte painkillers per day.

After overcoming her addiction issues, Jackie shared how she celebrated two years of sobriety on Thursday, November 14, a milestone.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia at Marie Claire’s Women of the Year Awards on Wednesday, Jackie revealed how much she was spending to mark the occasion with her friends.

“I think we’re going to go out to dinner and party, for sure,” Jackie shared proudly.

Pip was recently a guest on the Kyle and Jackie O Show and told co-host Kyle Sandilands, 52, the secret to their close bond.

“There is something to be said for finding friendship later in life. You know what you are looking for and what you stand for,” Pip began.

A horrified Jackie then said Pip had made it look like “we were dating” and Kyle joked that they were “like a lesbian couple”.

Pip added that they had such a great platonic friendship and one of the things she admired most about Jackie was his kindness to everyone they met.

Kyle asked if Jackie had the same sweet on-air personality that she had while presenting alongside him.

“When I see her flooded with fans, she’s so lovely and gives her time to everyone. She makes it really good and it’s really beautiful to watch,” Pip confirmed.

Jackie and Pip have been growing closer since September last year, when the radio presenter announced the socialite would be joining her on a trip to Fiji.

The tropical holiday was organized by Besties, the business Jackie runs with her best friend Gemma O’Neill.

A few months later, Jackie and her new pal Pip enjoyed a business lunch with Gemma.

It’s no surprise that Pip is looking for a new best friend, following her shock split from former business partner Claire Tregoning.

Edwards shared an update on her Instagram, revealing that she had deleted every post on the PE Nation page.

The shock move erases years of posts promoting the sportswear brand – and all traces of its former business partner from the page.

In March, Pip and Claire officially split after more than a decade together.

The friends, who were recently hit by breakup rumors, co-founded an athleisure brand in Sydney in 2015 and have since grown it into a thriving business globally.

However, Claire stepped away from running the label, while Pip continued to run the brand solo.
