Mesa County Sheriff issues arrest warrant for man accused of sexual exploitation of minor

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) – The Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted for escaping from Community Corrections, where he was serving time related to charges of sexual exploitation of a minor .

The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office believes Andrew Franssen, 33, likely works in the restaurant industry and is staying at a hotel somewhere in Mesa County. He may be using the pseudonym Andrew Hartley.

He is described as a white man weighing 283 pounds and 5’11”, with brown hair and brown eyes by law enforcement.

The Sheriff’s Office said Community Corrections is “not the Mesa County Detention Center or Jail/Correction Department.” This is an alternative punishment considered to be “custody” or prison. They are located in a different facility and it is not run by the sheriff’s office.

The Sheriff’s Office asked the public to contact their dispatch office at 970-242-6707 with any information.
